Due to a large increase in filings and COVID-19 workplace capacity restrictions, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is significantly delayed in processing receipt notices. USCIS has stated that it will send receipt notices within 30 days to individuals who properly filed out their forms and will reject incorrectly completed forms within the same timeframe. However, in practice, USCIS may take longer than 30 days to issue receipt notices and rejections. Individuals who have not yet filed their forms can take additional action to improve processing times.
