Introduction
On August 5, 2024, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it has completed the selection of additional registrations for certain beneficiaries to meet the fiscal year 2025 cap for the H-1B regular cap. The prospective petitioners with selected registrations have been notified and can now file H-1B cap petitions.
Summary
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has selected 13,607 beneficiaries in the second round for the FY 2025 H-1B regular cap, resulting in 14,534 total selected registrations.
Furthermore, only those with selected registrations in this second round may file H-1B cap petitions during the 90-day period which runs from 08/08/2024 until 11/07/2024. No second selection for the advanced degree exemption was conducted as enough registrations were already selected to meet the cap. H-1B cap petitions must be properly filed at the correct location or online at my.uscis.gov during the 90-day filing period and should include a copy of the selection notice.
It is important to note that effective April 1, 2024, the FY 2025 H1B cap petitions must be filed with new fees. Additionally, only the 04/01/24 edition of Form I-129 will be accepted.
