Some individuals have received phone calls from scammers that pose as the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) and request personal information from their victims. The spoof calls appear to come from the main line at the Office of Chief Immigration Judge at 703-305-1247, according to the victims’ caller ID. However, these calls are entirely fraudulent.
EOIR employees, judges, and other personnel do not contact individuals from the number listed above about case-related matters. EOIR stresses the importance of never providing personal information over the phone unless you know the individual.
For case-specific questions, call the EOIR automated case hotline at 1-800-898-7180. Other safe options to access information include the Automated Case Information System, and the Immigration Court Online Resource.
The Immigration team at Chugh, LLP will continue to monitor the situation and provide any updates as they become available. If you have any questions, or believe you provided information to a scammer, contact your trusted Chugh, LLP attorney.
