Department of Labor Confirms Employers Now Have 30 Days to Confirm Sponsorship After PERM Filing

Office of Foreign Labor Certification has confirmed to AILA that it has modified the deadline by which employers must respond to the sponsorship confirmation email following the filing of a PERM application. Employers traditionally have had 7 days to confirm sponsorship, but that has now been extended to 30 days. If a response is not received within the first 7 days, the system will automatically send a reminder email to the employer reminding them that they have 23 days left in which to confirm sponsorship. OFLC has revised the sponsorship email to reflect the new extended deadlines.
