Drug Cases

In California, the voters passed Proposition 36 (“Prop. 36”), which mandates drug treatment for certain drug offenders. First-time drug offenders are also eligible for treatment under Penal Code section 1000 (“PC 1000”), another drug treatment program in which there is no probation supervision and the case is dismissed at the successful completion of the program after 18 months. We are familiar with simple drug possession, transportation and possession for sales involving substances such as marijuana, methamphetamine, ecstasy, heroin, and cocaine.
